I've been a serious fitness walker for years, but the last few months I've been a little slack, settling for two and a half miles every morning instead of my customary four. So today I made the quality decision to resume the routine that works. It takes about an hour to walk four miles. It's so peaceful here, though, and temperatures in the sixties helped. I brought my camera today. Walk along with me and enjoy our pre-spring weather.
Our pond, one of my favorite places on the farm.
One of my favorite trees, a water oak that greets us at one of our entrances.
The adventure of the open road. Traffic? Nope. Hardly ever.
Granville County is primarily rural; here's a little piece of our neighbors' farm.
This angel presides over the farm on the opposite side of our crossroads. She stays up all year, bless her heart; she's prettily lighted at Christmas.
This huge white barn is one of my favorites. Wish we had it on our farm!
Headed back home now. These nifty vultures didn't want to pose, but I caught them in flight.
Hope y'all enjoyed a little walking tour of our corner of the world; we are so blessed to live here!

How relaxing Mary Ann. The barn looks just like the one on the property where I boarded my horses. I really love your corner of the world.
ReplyDeleteI loved walking with you! Thanks for taking me with your glorious photos and your kind words!
ReplyDeleteFun Mary Ann, I enjoyed it! I too have slacked off a bit-the weather is throwing me off my routine! I will get back to it, after reading your post! Thank you :D
This seems like an absolute dream to me! The walk and the environment, I bet it feels so good there. Walk on, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part is getting my butt out the door. Once I do, I'm always glad for it. I live in the mountains and fortunately, my four-legged walking buddy is always anxious for his afternoon stroll up the back mountain. Like you, I've taken my camera along because the views never cease to amaze me. Thanks for sharing your walk with me. It's absolutely lovely and bucolic where you live. I have temperature-envy too. :)
ReplyDeleteI just took a tour of your blog - got here through Old Centennial Farmhouse. Love miniatures - I love anything miniature. I am also a reader and writer - and crafter, gardener, walker, etc. My daughter is an English teacher and I am the Literacy secretary for my school district. I volunteer for our book mobile - I love books too!
ReplyDeleteYou live in a very poetic spot. Lovely images.
